Indian Brook, is 4.4 km upstream from where the Middle River meets the Bras D'Or lakes and has its head waters in Gairloch and Gillanders. Indian Brook has 4 major highway bridges on it and 3 of the 4 are currently experiencing significant damages due to the lack of proper stream maintenance.

Having a policy of complete control over instream work by the Federal Department of Fisheries & Oceans and the Nova Scotia Department of Environment has resulted in significant damage to roadway infrastructure as detailed in the attached videos.

Bridge no. 1 located on the Gairloch Mountain Road, 1.5km off the Middle River West Road
Bridge no. 2 located on Gairloch Mountain Road and 1km from bridge no. 1
Bridge no. 3 located on MacQuarrie Road, 250m from the Middle River West road
